Umeå University is part of a unique collaboration together with five Arctic universities in Sweden, Finland and Norway with the aim to lead the way in Arctic issues. This alliance has a signed agreement on a "Joint Arctic Agenda", where the goal is to advance and share knowledge, education, research and innovations to develop a more sustainable Arctic. Together, the universities form The Arctic Six.

The Arctic Six is a collaboration between six Arctic universities in Sweden, Norway and Finland. Each university has representatives in the Rector's council, Executive Team, Student's Team, and Communications Team. My project is titled "Sustainable food transitions in the Arctic" and aims to develop a network of practitioners in The Arctic Six in matters related to sustainable food systems in the Arctic.

My project is called "Truth commissions, teacher education and the Sámi", and aims to explore how teacher education at the Arctic Six universities is organised to prepare student teachers for teaching about Sámi and Sámi related themes.

The project is called "Improved monitoring of northern forest carbon", and aims to advance scientific understanding of the pattern, and underlying drivers, of carbon allocation and cycling in northern forests.
