SASUF – South Africa-Sweden University Forum

South Africa-Sweden University Forum (SASUF) is a collaborative project between Swedish and South African universities that brings together researchers, teachers, students, university leaders and other stakeholders. The focus of the collaboration is on finding common solutions to challenges noted in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Within SASUF, Swedish and South African universities collaborate to strengthen ties between the two countries in research, education and innovation. The collaboration focuses on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and finding solutions to the problems they highlight. The project also connects universities, funding bodies, industries, ministries and the rest of society.

SASUF is jointly funded by STINT, NRF and participating universities. The collaboration started in 2017 and has been implemented in various phases. The third phase started in August 2025 and will continue until August 2028.
