Future presentation tools

Degree Project 2025

This project explores the future of presentation tools and aims to unify the act of holding a presentation, no matter if it’s a “classroom” presentation, a boardroom huddle with your colleagues, or a virtual meeting. Through a user centred design approach, it was confirmed that currently the biggest cause of anxiety and stress related to presenting is the lack of preparation and the uncertainty of how the physical act of presenting will be performed, through what devices, softwares and with what support. Logi Link and Logi Present tackles both the physical frustration of not knowing what tools will be available in addition to the digital housekeeping needed to keep track of all the files and digital platforms related to presenting.

Project information

Logi Present & Link is a physical and digital concept that addresses painpoints that presenters (both frequent and infrequent) may stumble upon in the process of presenting, whether live, online or hybrid. It collects some of the most fundamental features desired by presenters (notes, slides preview, screensharing, etc.) and packages them in a simple, predictable solution in the shape of a digital platform and a physical device.

Methods

This project has followed a user centric design process, utilizing interviews, workshops and discussions to figure out what struggles and issues presenters face in their preparation and execution stages of their presentation journey.

Through interviews with both peers, laymen and experts, it was concluded what the common issues between the groups are, thus creating value for both the frequent and infrequent presenters. The scope was to create value for both the prepared presenter and the unprepared, a prepared presenter being someone who knows their material well enough to improvise in the moment of presenting and an unprepared presenter being someone who can’t. These issues were in essence lack of preparation and the uncertainty of how the physical devices used while presenting will behave.

Result

The result is a physical device and a digital platform, a platform (Logi Link) that enables personal rehearsal of presentations in addition to a unified way of connecting to different video calling services. Through linking presentations to the meeting-instance and unifying the basic controls of meeting platforms, it allows for certainty that the basic needs of presenters are located where expected, no matter what underlying platform is being used. For the practice capabilities, it takes input like what audience and what vibe is desired in order for the digital assistant to give relevant and desired feedback to the practitioner.

The physical product (Logi Present) is a modern take on speaker cards, creating a device that can dynamically adapt to different individuals' preferences and that offers a consistent device experience no matter if the presentation is live, online or a hybrid of the two. Through the digital platform it carries the presentation and effectively replaces the need for bringing one’s laptop to meetings, conferences and live presentations, instead packaging all necessary functions into one sleek device that is portable enough to fit in most large jacket pockets.
