How has it shaped our societies, our culture, and our understanding of nature – and what happens when it disappears?<a href="/link/6d3f2b829bd7423aa69ec33909f7e85e.aspx">Umeå Transformation Research Initiative</a> (UTRI) invites you to a seminar with Sverker Sörlin, a scholar in the history of ideas and environmental studies. Sörlin will present his book SNÖ (Snow) – A History. Recently published in English. The book is both a love letter to snow and a story of loss, portraying snow as a natural phenomenon, a cultural symbol, and an expression of the transformations brought about by climate change. We welcome everyone interested in engaging in research and collaboration for sustainable transformation as we gather this year around the theme of polycrises.Our world is characterised by global challenges of increasing complexity. The combination of crises such as pandemics, climate change, and wars reinforce each other and together form a polycrisis. To address these challenges, interdisciplinary research is required at multiple levels.
