Weston Shore Infant School graded Good from Ofsted

Lead inspector Kate Fripp found  Infant School was ‘outstanding’ in behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management – as well as early years provision.

The quality of the  was awarded ‘good’ as the report concluded: “Pupils are proud of their friendly school.

“Pupils behave exceptionally well, and they burst with pride.

“The environment is impressively well thought through, and pupils’ personal development is extremely well considered.”

The report also noted: “The same passion and determination are shared by all staff, who want the very best for the pupils at the school.”

Headteacher of Weston Shore Infant School, James Wiltshire, said: “We’re really pleased for all of the staff, children, parents and carers, as well as the governors and academy trust.

“We’re really proud that there are four areas that are outstanding and even the one good area.

“The staff have worked so hard to make sure that we’ve got the very best environment possible for the children.”

Mr Wiltshire was especially proud of the school’s work since their previous Ofsted inspection.

He said: “The school, at its last full inspection, was graded as a special measure school.

“A lot of work has gone into professional development, so we really prioritise opportunities for staff as well, to make sure they’re highly trained and can help the students with their development.”

Assistant headteacher, Navneet Juttla, added: “Parents have been overwhelmingly positive with their feedback and believe the school is outstanding.

“We want to create endless opportunities for our children and make sure they understand what they need to do in order to reach their aspirations.

“A lot of hard work has gone into improving the school and we couldn’t be happier.”
