Title: LLMs, Agentic AI, and Scientific Research: A Discussion

Abstract:

During this WASP Lighthouse session, we discussed how LLMs affect research, and how we can position ourselves given the inevitable effects.

Specifically, we asked the following broad questions:

• When and how to use LLMs for research?
• How do LLMs affect how we publish and apply for funding?
• What actions can we take to facilitate positive change to the academic research ecosystem in the age of LLMs?
