The Department of Molecular Biology and Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS) at Umeå University are inviting expressions of interest for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Molecular Biology or Molecular Infection Medicine. This role offers a unique opportunity to establish an independent research group within a competitive and internationally recognized research environment with an opportunity to be a part of the Nordic EMBL Partnership.

Successful candidates will receive a generous startup package (approx. 20 million SEK over 5 years), access to cutting-edge infrastructure including cryo-EM and ABSL3 facilities, and mentorship in both research and teaching. Applicants must hold a PhD awarded within the last 7 years, demonstrate research excellence and leadership, and have international experience.

The application should include the following:

• Short abstract (1500 characters)
• Research plan in English (max. 6 pages and no less than 4 pages, font 12pt)
• CV containing research qualifications – positions, prizes and postdoc positions (max 2 pages)
• Brief presentation of the candidate’s mobility and international experience (max 0.5 page)
• Publication list – highlight the 10 most important publications. Add a short summary of the significance of each of the 10 most important publications.
