Generative AI has not created an assessment crisis, it has simply exposed one. Traditional high-stakes, product-focused exams have long dominated, often without truly demonstrating what students understand and can do. This reality forces us to ask: what counts as knowledge, whose capabilities are we assessing, and what kinds of learners are our practices shaping? Grounded in work on GenAI and “knowledge in action”, this workshop offers a shared conceptual basis and practical steps for rethinking your own assessment design.
