Eleonora Mussino’s studies have focused primarily on international migration, one of the most important and contentious issues in contemporary European societies. She has contributed to the understanding of mechanisms underlying immigrant childbearing decisions and their contributions to a country’s overall fertility rate. She has also examined the provision of antenatal care and parental leave use among migrants and natives. These studies have shown that strong inequalities and structural barriers persist for immigrants in many destination countries.
