I am an organic chemist specializing in medicinal chemistry. My postdoc project focuses on oxime reactivators of acetylcholinesterase as antidotes to nerve agents.
I am a postdoc in Anna Linusson lab. Currently I am involved in research on metacaspase modulators. The aim of this research is to combat trypanosomiasis infections caused by parasites such as Trypanosoma brucei through modulation of the activity of their cysteine protease metacaspase Ib. Further I am also working on the antidotes to nerve agents. The project aims to better understand the mechanism of reactivation of acetylcholinesterase and use the knowledge to design more effective antidotes.
I have a PhD in Toxicology from the University of Hradec Kralove in Czech Republic. There I have worked on developing new reactivators of cholinesterases and enhancing their transfer through the blood-brain barrier.
