I am a teacher and researcher in political science, specializing in environmental politics and policy. My research primarily focuses on collaborative governance, conservation, and Indigenous rights.
In my dissertation, I examined how power, influence, and agency are constructed and distributed in and through discourses on conservation and Indigenous peoples (, 2015).
From 2018 to 2021, I was involved in an interdisciplinary project that used forests as a lens to explore how climate change can be made meaningful and actionable in local contexts (Bring down the sky to the earth).
Between 2020 and 2024, I led an independent research project analyzing the organization and implementation of collaborative arrangements for governance and management of landscapes and natural resources in Sápmi on the Swedish side (Collaboration for conservation in Sápmi).
My empirical work centers on the Sámi and Nordic regions of the Arctic. I am associated to Várdduo - Centre for Sami Research at Umeå University and the Arctic Research Centre at Umeå University (Arcum).
I teach first- and second cycle courses in political science. I am also the coordinator for the subject teacher education programmes with specialization in civics.
