My research focuses on patients’ experiences of video consultations, with a particular emphasis on the rural and sparsely populated areas of northern Sweden
The primary aim of my doctoral research is to explore experiences and expectations surrounding healthcare encounters facilitated through digital solutions, such as videoconferencing technology, in everyday clinical practice. This includes both emergency situations in the casualty rooms of community hospitals in Västerbotten, and planned consultations with regular physicians for individuals in nursing homes and home healthcare settings. The thesis also seeks to understand how healthcare services respond to citizens’ needs for high-quality care within the context of sparsely populated rural areas in northern Sweden.
