Research

My research is situated within International Security, with a particular emphasis on the Arctic region. I examine how Arctic states interpret and respond to a rapidly evolving security environment, focusing on processes of securitization and riskification. My work analyzes how states construct and manage a wide range of perceived security challenges, including critical infrastructure protection, digital platforms such as TikTok, (online) misinformation, and the spillover effects of broader geopolitical tensions into the Arctic.

Other Activities

I am actively involved in the polar research community. After contributing to the revitalization of the Swedish branch of the Association for Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) and serving on its board, I was elected Executive Secretary of the organization.

Teaching

At the master’s level, I teach in the Approaches to Political Science Seminar (15 ECTS). I have also delivered guest lectures on Nordic Arctic policies at the University of Iceland in the course Arctic Politics in International Context (Autumn Term 2025).
