Sara af Bjerkén is a specialist physician in neurology, as well as a senior lecturer and associate professor in histology with cell biology. Her research is based at the Medical Biological Centre, where she works to map and better understand the underlying neurodegenerative disease processes in Parkinson’s disease. In addition to her medical degree, af Bjerkén holds a master’s degree in biomedical sciences and currently combines her role as a physician with laboratory-based and clinical research.
