I am an Associate Professor of Respiratory Medicine at Umeå University and Head of Unit at the Department of Respiratory and Allergy Medicine, Sunderby Hospital, Region Norrbotten. My research is based on the OLIN studies (Obstructive Lung Disease in Northern Sweden) and the Swedish National Airway Register (SNAR). My work focuses on asthma and COPD, with particular interests in epidemiology, disease progression, sex differences, person-centred care, and implementation of clinical guidelines. I supervise PhD students and postdoctoral researchers and work to strengthen the integration of research and clinical practice to improve care for patients with chronic respiratory diseases.
